Epiphytic herbs; pseudobulbs dwarf, in specimens seen about 8-10 cm. tall, otherwise typical of the genus. Leaves plicate, deciduous. Inflorescences short erect racemes from the base of the pseudobulbs. Flowers few to many, dark red-dish brown or red; if many, set closely together in a dense raceme. Sepals subequal, lanceolate, acuminate, strongly reflexed, dorsal sepal 1.8-2 cm. long and .45-.5 cm. wide, laterals 1.7-1.8 cm. long and .55-.65 cm. wide. Petals subequal to the sepals, lanceolate, acuminate, strongly reflexed, 1.6-1.8 cm. long and .55-.65 cm. wide. Lip obovate, truncate, abruptly and minutely apiculate, about as long as broad when spread out, 1.4-1.6 cm. long and 1.4-1.6 cm. wide, lateral lobes very strongly reflexed, pubescent. Column twisted to one side, typical of the genus.
