Characteristics

Plants with stems 10-15 mm long; leaves rarely produced, 10-15 x 3 mm; roots numerous, simple, c. 1 mm in diameter. Inflorescences of several racemes, each 30-50 mm long and with c. 10 lax flowers; sheaths lanceolate, 2-3 mm long; bracts tubular, shortly acuminate, 2-3 mm long; pedicels 10 mm long. Flowers pale green, 8 mm in diameter. Sepals subequal, apices subfleshy; median erect, narrowly ovate, acute, 3-5 x 1.5 mm; laterals spreading, suboblique, narrowly rhomboid, acute, 4-5 x 1.5 mm. Petals hooding the anther, narrowly oblong, subacute, apex subfleshy, 3-3.5 x 0.7-1 mm. Lip 3-lobed; midlobe sharply deflexed, narrowly triangular, apex fleshy, 2 x 0.5 mm; side lobes porrect, rounded, 1 mm tall; spur base 1.8 mm in diameter, tapering to an acute apex, 17-25 mm long. Gynostemium 0.5 mm tall. Capsules cylindrical, ellipsoid, ribbed, 9x4 mm.

Roots very numerous, up to 20 cm long, 1–1.5 mm in diameter, light grey, unbranched, many hanging free and not attached to the substrate.
Leaves few, sometimes absent (when the plant has the appearance of Microcoelia), 11–35 × 2–5 mm, oblanceolate, with a petiolate base.
Lip 4–5 × 1 mm, narrowly triangular; spur 18–23 mm long, tapering from a wide mouth to become very slender.
