Tufted suffrutex, up to 0.6 m high, with woody, subterranean stems. Leaves in a basal tuft, persistent and sclerophyllous, long-petiolate, divaricately dissected, 3-pinnate or multifid, with ultimate lobes filiform, stiffly erect, lemon-scented. Flowers in compound umbels on simple, elongate peduncles; whitish or yellowish. Flowering time Sept.-Feb. Fruit large, 10-15 mm long, dorsally flattened with thick, very broad, marginal wings.
Like N. strictum but leaves usually reclining, petiole twice as long as blade, rachis refracted, pinnae ascending at obtuse angles to one another, leaflets refracted, flowers cream and fruit with dorsal ribs very prominent.
