Characteristics

A cactus tree. It is treelike. It grows 8-12 m high. The trunks are well defined. The stalks are 60-70 cm across. The branches stick upwards. There are 6-7 ribs. There are 3-5 central spines and 7-10 spines around it. The flowers are a dull red-white. They are 6-7.5 cm long and 5-6 cm wide. The fruit is round and 5-7 cm across. They are spiny and yellow-brown. The pulp of the fruit is smooth and pink.
