Nerine ridleyi E.Phillips

Species

Angiosperms > Asparagales > Amaryllidaceae > Nerine

Characteristics

Short broad leaves, with obtuse tips. The three on the herbarium sheet that I measured were 8 cm x 2-5 cm, 11-8 cm x 2-7 cm, 8-4 cm x 2-5 cm. The scape, slender and terete, can be 15 to 27 cm in length with up to 5 pedicels about 4 cm in length. The perianth segments average around 2-5 cm by 4 mm. In the pressed specimens the flowers appear funnel-form in their arrangement but the flowers are apparently very young and barely open and sight of living material is needed. The individual perianth segments are uncrisped for the first 2/3rds of their length.
