Characteristics

Plants 80-420 mm tall, glabrous except for the lip and the subterranean parts; tubers ovoid, 14-32 mm in diameter; leaf solitary, erect, plicate, elliptic to lanceolate, the base tapering or truncate, 60-130 mm long and 25-40 mm wide, developing after flowering, acute, 6-10-veined, glabrous, plicate, petiole 30-60 mm. Inflorescences laxly 2-5-flowered, scape erect; bracts linear-acuminate, 7-25 x 1-2 mm. Flowers yellow to greenish, lip whitish green with purple venation; ovary c. 4 mm long. Sepals and petals subequal, ligulate-lanceolate, acute; lateral sepals 12-26 x 3-3.5 mm; petals similar but slightly shorter. Lip elliptic, 10-19 x 7-12 mm, 3-lobed, blade with 2 fleshy ridges; midlobe triangular and subacute; side lobes triangular, erect, enclosing gynostemium, acute or subacute. Gynostemium glabrous, curved, clavate, 8-11 mm; pollinia yellow, c. 2 mm long. Capsules 8-13 x c. 10 mm.
