Characteristics

Plants 25-100 mm tall, glabrous; tubers ovoid, 7-13 x 8-9 x 6-9 mm; leaf solitary, developing after flowering, prostrate, glabrous, blade cordate, subacute to obtuse, 14-55 x 12-45 mm, petiole 10-60 mm. Inflorescences 1-flowered, lengthening to 60-200 mm when fruiting; bracts 1-2.5 x 0.5 mm. Flowers small, often cleistogamous, c. 22 x 18 mm when open, borne ± horizontally, sepals and petals reddish green with maroon markings, lip white to faint pink with darker markings. Sepals and petals spreading, subequal, ligulate, acute; lateral sepals 9.5-14 x 2 mm; petals similar but slightly shorter and narrower. Lip oblong, 3-lobed, 9-13 x 5-6 mm, with a narrow waist in the middle dividing it into equally long hypochile and epichile; midlobe flat, with central ridge; side lobes short, obtuse, erect and enclosing the gynostemium. Gynostemium clavate, pubescent, 4.5 x 6 mm long; pollinia white to pinkish grey, 1.5 x 0.6 mm long. Capsules 9-12 x c. 4.5 mm.
