Characteristics

Perennial herb, 15–30 cm high, with several stems from base; stems erect, striate, white-pubescent.. Leaves sessile, entire and obovate to pinnatifid, 2–6 cm long, 0.4–1.5 cm wide (to 3 cm when lobed), attenuate at the base, the margins entire or lobed with narrow lobes to 5 mm long, acute to obtuse and mucronate at the apex, (thinly) pubescent.. Capitula 3–4 mm long, 3–6 together forming subglobose cymes, few of which form leafy corymbs; stalks of capitula 0.5–5 mm long, pubescent; phyllaries lanceolate, 1.5–2.5 mm long, 0.5–0.7 mm wide, the margins laciniate, the apex laciniate and acute, pubescent; receptacle convex, spinulose.. Marginal florets yellow, ± 25, tube 0.8–1 mm long, lobes 3–4, 0.2–0.4 mm wide, style ± 1.2 mm long; disc florets yellow, ± 28, tube 1.5–1.7 mm long, lobes 4–5, 0.5–0.6 mm long (?glandular); anthers 0.9–1 mm long, with triangular appendages; style ± 2 mm long, of which the rather fat papillose triangular arms are 0.3–0.4 mm long.. Achenes dimorphic, those of the marginal florets slightly obovoid, flattened, 0.7–0.9 mm long, pilose, and those of the central florets obtriangular and ± 0.2 mm long; pappus of 8–11 white setae, those of the marginal florets ± 1 mm long, those of the central florets 1.3–1.5 mm long.
