Characteristics

Erect or spreading plant to 0.6 m diam.; tomentum bright golden, sometimes greyish-white, fading and becoming sparse or absent on adaxial leaf-surface. Prophylls and cataphylls linear, c. 1 mm long; cataphylls often unequally fused 1-5 mm above prophylls. Leaf lamina trullate, rhombic or elliptic, rounded, obtuse or acuminate with a short blunt mucro, usually 3 cm long, 1-2 cm wide, darker and sometimes shining adaxially; petiole 3-5 mm long. Inflorescence of 1 terminal and 2 lateral fan-like cymules, each 5-11-flowered, usually the central 1-5 flowers male; bracts narrowly triangular, 0.5-0.8 mm long. Male flower 1 mm diam.; stipe 0.5 mm long. Female flower 2 mm long. Fruit ellipsoidal to nearly globular, 7 mm long.
