Divaricately-branched shrub up to 1 m tall; stems grey, very densely lenticellate.. Leaves immature at flowering time, elliptic, 1.8–2.3 cm long, 1.1–1.4 cm wide, ± rounded at the apex and base, obsoletely regular-serrulate at the margin; petiole ± 2 mm long.. Flowers solitary at ends of short twigs; pedicels 1.3–1.4 cm long.. Sepals ovate, 5.5 mm long, 3–4 mm wide, rounded.. Petals yellow, broadly obovate, 11–12 mm long, 8–9 mm wide, rounded or retuse at the apex, narrowly long-unguiculate at the base.. Anthers oblong, 1–1.2 mm long, dehiscing by apical pores; filaments 3 mm long.. Styles joined, 4 mm long, free for a short distance at apex. Ovary 5-lobed; fruits not seen.
