Leaves thin, lanceolate or oblong-elliptic or rarely subovate-lanceolate, 3.5–6.5 cm long, 1–2.4 cm wide, acutely acuminate at the apex, cuneate at the base, rather distantly serrate, the teeth rather obscure, appearing shallowly crenate to the naked eye; lateral veins ± 30, together with reticulate tertiary venation finely raised on both surfaces; petiole slender, 3–4 mm long; stipules linear, 4 mm long, bifid.. Flowers 2–3 at ends of short lateral branchlets; pedicels 1–1.5 cm long, jointed about 1 mm from base.. Sepals red in fruit, unequal, narrowly oblong-elliptic to broadly elliptic, 1.2–1.5 cm long, 0.4–1.1 cm wide.. Petals yellow, narrowly obovate, 7 mm long, 3.5 mm wide.. Anthers 1–1.5 mm long, dehiscing by apical pores (see note); filaments 2.5–3.5 mm long.. Styles united save for apical free branches ± 0.5 mm long.. Drupelets black, ellipsoid, 8–9 mm long, 6–7 mm wide.
