Characteristics

Erect branched perennial, (0.4-)0.6-1.5 m tall, with a single stem from the base. Stems densely hairy with 3-to 5-celled eglandular trichomes. Leaves broadly ovate or obovate, rarely elliptic; (14-)16-28(-37) x (7-)9-15(-20) mm; almost glabrous, but with some long-stalked glandular trichomes abaxially; apex obtuse; base cuneate; margin entire sometimes serrate; petiole (3.0-)3.8-7.8(-11.5) mm long. Bracts ovate to elliptic, (3.3-)4.4-7.3(-10.0) x (0.7-)0.8-1.1(-1.4) mm. Fruiting calyx: upper lip (5.9-) 7.0-8.4 (-9.0) x (4.6-)5.1-6.2(-7.0) mm and mature teeth (0.7-)1.0-1.6(-2.0) mm long. Corolla white or mauve with darker nectar guides; (9-)10-12(-14) mm long; upper lip entire, with lateral edges spreading; (6.5-)7.4-9.0(-10.0) x (4.5-)5.4-6.5(-7.1) mm; lower lip (4.0-)5.0-6.2(-6.6) x (2.1-)3.2-4.5(-6.0) mm. Stamens: upper pair (18-)19-23(-25) mm long; lower pair (21-)24-29(-30) mm long. Style (23-)27-31(-32) mm long, stigma lobes (0.6-)0.7-1.1(-1.3) mm long.
