A moderately branched, up to c. 0.5 m high shrublet. Stems ascending-erect, glabrous, leafy, becoming nude and marked with leaf-scars. Leaves alternate, spreading, somewhat semiterete, mid-ribbed, linear or narrowly obovate-oblong, 3-8 mm long, 0.8-1.5 mm wide, glabrous, densely and distinctly glandular-punctate and foveolate, obtuse. Capitula solitary, sessile, terminal. Involucre campanulate, 6-8 mm wide. Involucral bracts 50-60, outer ovate, inner gradually longer and oblong and apically brown, innermost narrowly obovate with a spreading, brown apical limb, up to 6 mm long, up to 1.3 mm wide, acute-obtuse. Receptacle convex, paleate. Paleae canaliculate, linear, 5-5.5 mm long, 0.3-0.5 mm wide, dorsally sparsely gland-dotted, acute. Ray-florets 20-25. Tube cylindrical, 1.5-2 mm long. Lamina elliptic-oblong, 5-6 mm long, 1.2-1.8 mm wide, yellow and dorsally with a brownish purple stripe, 4-veined. Style 2.6-3 mm long; style-branches c. 1 mm long. Achenes as in disc-florets, but much more densely pilose. Disc-florets >40, perfect. Corolla 3.3-3.8 mm long, 0.6-0.8 mm wide. Tube cylindrical. Limb narrowly cyathiform; corolla lobes 0.5-0.7 mm long, dorsally gland-dotted. Style c. 3.5 mm long; style-branches c. 0.7 mm long, apically penicillate and truncate; stylopodium distinct. Anthers c. 2.2 mm long; tails c. 1/4 of the length of the anther. Achenes almost terete, elliptic-oblong, 1.2-1.5 mm long, 0.4-0.5 mm wide, pilose; pappus crownlike, of ± connate scales, up to 1.3 mm long.
