Characteristics

Shrub or dwarf shrub, up to 1.5 m high; branches decumbent; pubescence mixed with short glandular and long, mostly eglandular hairs; foetid smell. Leaves much varied, elliptical or ovate to round, acute to acuminate, sessile, revolute, stiffly dentate or serrate. Flowers axillary to upper leaves, shortly pedicellate. Calyx deeply lobed. Corolla regular, tube greenish, up to 8 mm long, cylindrical; limb shorter, white, 5-lobed, up to 8 mm wide, fragrant. Flowering time Sept., Oct. Fruit a shiny, black drupe.
