Annual slender erect herb; stem sparsely branched, ± 15 cm. tall, with 4 papillose-pubescent ribs.. Leaf-blades linear, 1.2–3 cm. long, 0.5–0.8 mm. wide, mucronulate, margins inrolled, shortly scabridulous-papillose-pubescent above and on the main nerve beneath; petiole obsolete; stipule-sheath 1.5–3 mm. long, produced into 5 slender setae 1–4 mm. long.. Flowers isostylous, solitary at the nodes or in pairs, pedicels 1–1.5(–4) mm. long.. Calyx-tube campanulate, 0.8 mm. long, with few short hairs; lobes linear-lanceolate, 1.2–1.8 mm. long, the margins and main nerve scabrid-pubescent.. Corolla white; tube ± 1.2 mm. long; lobes ovate, 1.2 mm. long; throat hairy.. Style slightly shorter than the stigma-lobes.. Capsule campanulate, laterally compressed, 1.5 mm. long, 1.8 mm. wide, glabrous, crowned by the persistent calyx-lobes; beak slightly raised, 0.2 mm. tall; seeds brown, angular, ± 2.2 mm. long..
