Characteristics

Perennial decumbent herb with somewhat branched stems 15–40 cm. long, slightly woody below, ridged above and with small papillae on the ridges; perhaps slightly succulent.. Leaves succulent; blades elliptic or elliptic-oblong, 0.6–1.1 cm. long, 3–6.5 mm. wide, subacute, obtuse or rounded at the apex, rounded or broadly cuneate at the base, markedly revolute when dry, glabrous save for dense papillae on the margins at the base; petioles ± 1 mm. long, densely papillate pubescent; stipule-sheath 1–1.5 mm. long, densely papillate pubescent, with 1–2 teeth 0.3–1 mm. long.. Flowers in congested corymbs at the apices of the shoots, terminal and axillary, heterostylous; peduncles up to 1.7 cm. long; secondary peduncles ± 1.5 mm. long, the junctions with hyaline bracts ± 1 mm. long or ringed with stipule-sheaths devoid of leaves; pedicels 1.5–3.5 mm. long, widened at the apex and bearing hyaline ovate bracts ± 1 mm. long.. Calyx-tube narrowly campanulate, ± 1.5 mm. long, glabrous; lobes ovate, 1.3 mm. long, 0.6 mm. wide, glabrous.. Corolla greenish white, ± glabrous; tube 1 mm. long, densely hairy at the throat; lobes oblong-lanceolate, 1.3 mm. long.. Style 2 mm. long in long-styled flowers; stigma-lobes 0.4 mm. long..
