Characteristics

Small presumably decumbent perennial herb 4–9 cm. long; stems very shortly scabridulous-pubescent.. Leaves blue-green or purplish green, elliptic or elliptic-ovate, 0.8–1.3 cm. long, 5–8 mm. wide, subacute at the apex, ± rounded at the base, somewhat fleshy, revolute, glabrous or minutely scabrid above, glabrous beneath, discolorous, the rhaphides particularly evident on the lower surface; midvein evident but no lateral veins visible; petioles ± 1 mm. long; stipule-sheath ± 1 mm. long, divided into ± 3 fimbriae 0.8 mm. long.. Flowers heterostylous, in several-flowered erect axillary ± dichasial cymes; peduncles (0.1–)1–2.5 cm. long; pedicels 0.2–1 cm. long, glabrous or minutely pubescent.. Calyx-tube campanulate, 1.5 mm. long; lobes ovate, 1–1.8 mm. long, 0.5–0.8 mm. wide, mostly minutely scabrid-ciliate on the margins.. Corolla white; tube 2.1–2.5 mm. long, hairy at the throat; lobes ovate, 1.5–1.8 mm. long, 1.3 mm. wide, apiculate, densely papillate inside; style hairy, 1.3 mm. long in short-styled flowers, 3 mm. long in long-styled flowers; stigma-lobes oblong or elliptic, 0.6–0.8 mm. long, densely papillate hairy..
