Annual herb with main stem usually much branched near the base, 20–40 cm. tall, erect or? somewhat straggling; branchlets slender, ribbed, glabrous or sparsely scaly-pubescent.. Leaf-blades linear, 1.5–4.3 cm. long, 0.5–2 mm. wide, blunt to acuminate at the apex, narrowed at the base, glabrous or sparsely shortly scabrid pubescent on the upper surface and on the midvein beneath, revolute; petioles not developed; stipule-sheath 1–2 mm. long, divided into ± 5 unequal filiform fimbriae 0.5–3 mm. long.. Flowers heterostylous, in axillary and terminal corymbs and panicles, each often 7-or more flowered; peduncle slender, up to 1.8 cm.; pedicels 2–3(–6) mm. long.. Calyx depressed subglobose or broadly obconic, 0.5–1 mm. long; lobes narrowly lanceolate, 0.3–1 mm. long, glabrous, keeled.. Corolla white; tube 1.8 mm. long, densely hairy at the throat; lobes ovate-oblong, 1.4–1.8 mm. long, 0.8 mm. wide, papillate inside.. Style in short-styled flowers 0.6 mm. long, in long-styled flowers 2.5 mm. long; stigma-lobes 0.6–0.8 mm. long.. Capsule depressed subglobose or broadly obconic, 1–1.2 mm. tall, 1.7–2.2 mm. wide, the beak very slightly raised, scarcely 0.2 mm. tall..
