Annual herb, much branched at the base; stems mostly prostrate, 3–17 cm. long, scabridulous on the ribs.. Leaf-blades elliptic to elliptic-lanceolate or linear-lanceolate, 0.5–1.6(–3) cm. long, 1–6 mm. wide, acute at the apex, narrowed to the base, minutely sparsely scabrid-setulose above, distinctly scabridulous on the margins, ± glabrous beneath; petioles not developed; stipule-sheath 0.5–2 mm. long, produced at the middle, with 3–5 unequal fimbriae up to 0.8(–1.2) mm. long.. Flowers not heterostylous, usually solitary at the nodes, rarely apparently in terminal pedunculate 2–3-flowered cymes, or in axillary 2-flowered cymes; peduncle 3–9 mm. long; pedicels ± 2–3 mm. long, lengthening to 1.1(–1.9) cm. in fruit, sometimes minutely scabridulous.. Calyx-tube ellipsoid to subglobose, ± 1 mm. long; lobes triangular, 1–1.2(–3) mm. long, 0.5–1 mm. wide, minutely setulose on the margins.. Corolla white; tube 1 mm. long; lobes ovate, 0.6–0.7 mm. long and wide.. Style 0.8–1 mm. long, hairy; stigma-lobes 0.7 mm. long.. Capsule oblong-ovoid, usually distinctly taller than wide, ± 2–3 mm. long, 1.5–2.2 (–2.8) mm. wide, beak 0.2–0.7 mm. tall..
