Annual or possibly perennial erect herb 17–35 cm. tall, usually branched from the base into several to many stems, glabrous or scabrid-papillose on the ribs with short spreading hairs.. Leaf-blades linear, 0.9–5 cm. long, (0.5–)1(–3.5) mm. wide, revolute, apiculate at the apex, sparsely scabrid-pubescent above and beneath; petiole not developed; stipule-sheath 2–3 mm. long, divided into 2–7 fimbriae 1–4 mm. long.. Inflorescences terminal and axillary panicles of peduncled 2–9-flowered glomerules; peduncles 0.2–2.5 cm. long; pedicels up to 1 mm. long in bud but lengthening to 2(–4) mm. in fruit.. Flowers heterostylous.. Calyx-tube subglobose, ± 0.8–1 mm. long, glabrous; lobes triangular-lanceolate, 1 mm. long, sparsely ciliate on the margins.. Corolla white; tube 1.4 mm. long, hairy inside; lobes oblong-elliptic, 1.3–2 mm. long, 0.7 mm. wide, papillate inside.. Style in short-styled flowers 0.4 mm. long, in long-styled flowers 2.8 mm. long; stigma-lobes 0.5–0.8 mm. long..
