Characteristics

Tree to 12 m high. Stipules lanceolate, 1.3–1.5 mm long, 0.5–0.6 mm wide. Leaves: petiole 20–75 mm long; lamina lanceolate, lanceolate-ovate or ovate, 45–120 mm long, 16–80 mm wide; base attenuate to cuneate; tip acuminate; penninerved with 8–14 lateral veins per side of midrib and reticulate interlateral tertiary veins; glands ± sessile, circular, 0.8–1 mm diam.; juvenile leaves not lobed. Inflorescences paniculate. Male flowers 1.4–1.5 mm long, 3–3.5 mm diam.; pedicels 5–9 mm long. Female flowers 4.5–5 mm long, c. 3 mm diam.; pedicels 2.5–3 mm long. Fruit subglobose, 50–60 mm long, 50–60 mm diam., 2-or 3-lobed with a pointed apex(added from 1995 paper to match other species descriptions). Seeds 23–25 mm long, 23–25 mm wide, smooth, pale grey-brown.
