Receptacle conical-globose, epaleate. Flowers: disc florets only; corolla 4-lobed, tube swollen, thick and brittle, yellow; Sep.-Jan. Fruit with cypsela yellowish brown, terete, tapering at base, 4-ribbed, glandular between ribs. Pappus a small, apically dentate crown.
