Erect ±virgate herb to 60 cm high, with woody rootstock, simple or sparingly branched from near base, ±hairy with hairs simple or septate, rarely glabrous. Branches subterete, often with a pair of lateral ridges, to ±square in cross-section (angles ridged or narrowly winged). Leaves sessile, crowded or well spaced, with internodes usually visible, narrowly ovate, 15–32 mm long, 1.9–3.2 (–7) mm wide, slightly revolute, obtuse to acute, sparsely hairy on both surfaces. Inflorescence 1–15-flowered. Calyx 5.5–8 mm long; lobes narrowly triangular to narrowly ovate, acute. Corolla 12–18 (–22) mm long, c. 1/2-connate, white; lobes ovate to elliptic or oblong, obtuse; outer surface ±hairy; inner surface hairy (hairs near base of lobes crinkly). Ovary very sparsely hairy and with short glandular hairs; style hairy.
Occurs inlow closed or open heath communities, or in Jarrah forests or woodlands; soilsusually sandy, but generally lateritic, also in coarse grey sandy soils whenoverlying granite, sometimes occurring in loamy soils, rarely in soilsassociated with limestone.
