Slender tufted sedge-like subshrub, 20–60 cm high, many-branched from ground-level; branches (0.7–) 1.4 (–2) mm diam., appearing leafless, finely longitudinally ridged, minutely papillose. Leaves glabrous, reduced, scale-like, sessile, narrowly to very narrowly triangular but apex long-attenuate, caducous, remaining lamina narrowly triangular, 3.5–6 mm long, 0.8–1.4 (–1.6) mm wide, not or only narrowly membranous marginally; midrib slightly raised on lower surface. Inflorescence 3–5-flowered; pedicel densely hairy; flowers faintly to mildly aromatic, musk-like, not unpleasant. Calyx 4.5–6 mm long, densely hairy on outer surface; lobes narrowly ovate to narrowly triangular, with membranous margin 0.1–0.2 mm wide (near base). Corolla 9–13 mm long, c. 3/5-connate, white; lobes usually broadly ovate to broadly obovate, rounded at apex; outer surface ±hairy distally, with hairs usually sparser and shorter on tube; inner surface hairy to halfway up lobes, glabrous or with an occasional hair distally. Ovary ±glandular-hairy; style glabrous.
Occurs in sand heaths and disturbedareas with Allocasuarina and Eucalyptus spp., in pale yellow sandyloams, often with laterite; locally common.
