Erect caespitose subshrub usually to 25 cm high, or decumbent to 30 cm diam. Branches ±terete with c. 6 fine to deep longitudinal furrows, sparsely to densely hairy, occasionally glabrous; hairs less than 0.1 (–0.2) mm long. Leaves sessile, linear to narrowly ovate or rarely narrowly triangular, (3–) 5–10 (–15) mm long, 0.5–1 (–1.5) mm wide, densely fimbriate, membranous at base of margin, often slightly to strongly recurved apically, ±hairy on both surfaces, occasionally glabrous. Inflorescences 1-or 2-(–4)-flowered. Calyx 4–9.5 mm long; lobes narrowly triangular to almost linear, slightly recurved apically. Corolla (8–) 10–16 mm long, 1/3–1/2 (–2/3)-connate, bright yellow to almost white; lobes obovate to ±ovate, papillose to minutely fimbriate marginally, rounded, sometimes apiculate; outer surface glabrous basally, densely papillose distally, with scattered longer hairs near sinus; inner surface sparsely to moderately hairy basally, sometimes hairs restricted to narrow arching band, occasionally densely papillose throughout. Ovary glabrous or sparsely hairy distally; style glabrous or sparsely to moderately hairy on basal half; stigma (1.2–) 1.6–3.4 mm long, often minutely notched at apex, occasionally deeply lobed, lobes never divergent distally.
Common in lowopen heath and shrubland communities, less common in low woodlands or grasslandcommunities. Occurs in white sandy soils, often associated with white to brownlateritic soils.
