Erect to spreading, compact or diffuse subshrub, 5–20 cm high; branches, petioles and leaves ±hairy, rarely glabrous. Branches subterete to ±square in cross-section (angles ridged or narrowly winged). Leaves ±subsessile with petiole 0.1–2.5 mm long; lamina very broadly ovate to narrowly ovate or narrowly elliptical, 3.2–22 mm long, 1.5–5.5 mm wide, rounded to shortly attenuate at base, recurved marginally, ±obtuse to subacute. Inflorescence terminal, always reduced, cymose, 2–14-flowered. Calyx 3.5–5 mm long, with outer surface hairy, particularly medially and marginally; lobes narrowly ovate, long-attenuate. Corolla (4–) 4.5–8.5 mm long, 1/4–2/5-connate, white; lobes ±obovate, rounded (often with minute acumen) to subacute; outer surface papillose; inner surface hairy from above base, distally with papillae and sparse long hairs, papillose on margin. Ovary ±glandular-hairy; style glabrous.
