Slender shrub 2–5 m. tall; young stems and leaf-rhachides with both normal white spreading hairs and dark swollen-based hairs; the latter are absent from the inflorescence and calyx but present on the leaflet-margin.. Leaflets 5–13, 8–24 mm. long, 6–14 mm. wide, the margins flat.. Racemes white pilose; bracts ± 3 cm. long; pedicels up to 25 mm. long; bracteoles up to 5 mm. long, up to 7 mm. below the base of the receptacle.. Calyx blackish-green, with spreading white hairs; tube 3 mm. deep; lobes 4–9 mm. long.. Corolla persistent, yellow with dark purple veins; standard 17–21 mm. long, cordate at the base with knob-like appendages; blade of wing obovate, tapering gradually to the base.. Stamens (5) + (5) or less often (10).. Disc cylindrical, ± 0.5 mm. deep.. Ovary densely pubescent, strongly curved, with ± 5 ovules and a stipe 1.5 mm. long.. Fruit becoming ± straight, exserted from the persistent corolla, with 2–3 flat elliptic fertile segments, each up to 13 mm. long and 6 mm. wide, the indumentum grey interspersed with black glandular-based hairs ± 0.5 mm. long.
