Characteristics

Frutex in pleiochasium diffuse ramosus; rami dense foliati, inter nodiis plerumque 2-5 mm longis, glabri vel partibus junioribus interdum arachnoidei, vetustiores decumbentes 2-3(-5) dm longi graciles 1-2(-3) mm modo crassi. Folia alterna sessilia erectopatentia interdum leviter curvata lineari-subulata pungentia subacerosa 1-3 cm longa 1-2 mm lata glabra vel juniora interdum leviter arachnoidea margine integerrima inconspicue spinuloso-ciliata; nervus medius subtus elevatus in ramum decurrens angulum ± conspicuum formans. Capitula in apicibus ramulorum solitaria breviter pedunculata; pedunculi 0.5-2 cm longi bracteis paucis lineari-subulatis 1-2 mm longis in squamas involucri sensim transeuntibus instructi. Involucrum turbinato-campanulatum 3-5 mm altum; squamae 2-3-seriatae imbricatae glabrae vel interdum arachnoideae, exteriores lineari-lanceolatae 1.5-3 mm longae, intimae lanceolato-oblongae 3-5 mm longae c. 1 mm latae acuminatae sat late albido-marginatae. Flores radii flavi 5-7 involucrum fere duplo superantes; flores disci flavi involucro aequilongi. Achaenia laevia glabra cylindracea 5-6 mm longa 1.5 mm lata.
