Characteristics

Herba perennis rhizomatosa; caules numerosi, caespites laxos formantes, 15-40 cm longi, subsimplices vel valde ramosi, pilis grossis patentibus saepe glanduliferis parce induti, foliati. Folia alterna, usque ad 55 x 10 mm, oblanceolata vel anguste elliptica, apice subacuto vel obtuso, basi attenuata, marginibus subintegris vel remote calloso-denticulatis, uti caules parce pilosa. Pedunculi terminales et foliis superioribus oppositi, capitulo singulo, c. 30-40 mm longi, pilis grossis patentibus saepe \ glanduliferis induti. Involucri bracteae 8-12, plus minusve biseriatae, leviter imbricatae, 11 x 2 mm, lanceolato-acuminatae, marginibus membranaceis, dorso glanduloso-puberulae insuper pilis aliis grossis patentibus praeditae. Flores radii 8, involucrum superantes, tubo c.lmm longo piloso, limbo c. 12 x 3-4 mm glabro supra luteo subtus brunneo-purpureo vel rubro; flores disci involucro breviores, lutei. Achenia c. 9-5 x 4 mm, cylindrica vel ad basin leviter attenuata, glabra.
