Herba perennis 3-6 dm alta; caules plures e caudice c. 0.5 cm crasso subterraneo exeuntes rigidi erecti basi lignescentes 1-2 mm 12 crassi apicem versus ramosi interne sulcati superne striati primo arachnoideo-lanati mox glabrescentes foliati, internodiis 0.5-2 cm longis vel sursum longioribus. Folia alterna coriacea vel submembranacea supra asperula vix vel non arachnoidea subtus dense arachnoideolanata postremo glabrescentia, inferiora oblanceolato-linearia vel linearia 2-6 cm longa 0.1-0.6 mm lata acuta basin versus angustata margine revoluta dentibus utrinque 2-4 instructa vel subiritegerrima, superiora caulis et ramealia remota linearia-subulata integerrima; nervus medius subtus paullum elevatus. Capitula in apicibus caulis et ramorum solitaria vel in corymbum laxum disposita; pedicelli capitulorum erecto-patentes 2-5(-10) cm longi primo floccoso-arachnoidei mox glabrescentes apicem versus glanduloso-puberuli bracteis paucis lineari-subulatis 2-10 mm longis instructi. Involucri squamae 7-10 fere aequilongae oblongae-anguste obovatae 3-4,5 mm longae 1-2 mm latae acutae saepe mucronatae dorso glanduloso-puberulae margine late albido-scariosae breviter serrulato-fimbriatae. Flores radii flavi 7-10 involucri squamas 2-3-plo superantes; flores disci flavi involucro fere aequilongi. Achaenia glabra leviter incurva + conspicue triangularia apice truncata 3-tuberculata; rostrata 1-2 adsunt.
