Herba perennis; caules primo suberecti mox decumbentes vel subscandentes diffuse ramosi basi lignescentes 3-6 dm longi; caules et rami teretes striati parce vel rarius dense hispidi-pubescentes, pilis pluricellularibus glanduliferis, vel partibus vetustioribus glabrati; internodia 1-3 cm longa. Folia alterna sessilia utrinque ± glandulosoaspera-hispida-pubescentia vel glabrata obovata-oblanceolata-oblonga 2-4(-6) cm longa 1-3(-4) cm lata apice acuta vel saepius obtusa calloso-mucronulata basi semiamplexicaulia interdum ± auriculata margine leviter revoluta grosse sinuato-dentata-denticulata, dentibus callosis remotis utrinque 3-6 vulgo 1-2 mm altis; nervus medius subtus elevatus parce hispidus, nervi secundarii utrinque 3-4 vix conspicui anastomosantes. Pedunculi capitulorum terminales et axillares subgraciles irregulariter curvati glanduloso-asperi-hispidi-pubescentes foliis longiores 2-7 cm longi bracteis 1-3 lanceolatolinearibus-lineari-subulatis 1-2 cm longis instructi. Involucri squamae uni-vel subuniseriatae 8-12 fere aequilongae lineari-lanceolatae acuminatae (8-)10-12 mm longae 1.5-2.5 mm latae per medium dorsum glanduloso-scabridae margine sat late albido-scariosae. Flores radii 8-12; ligulae utrinque flavae vel subtus saepe passim cupreae-violaceae involucrum paullo superantes; flores disci flavi involucro fere dimidio breviores. Achaenia matura glabra fere laevia cylindracea vel cylindraceofusiformia c. 8 mm longa c. 2 mm diam.

Leaves alternate, sessile, pyriform, panduriform, elliptic or oblong, cuneate and half-clasping at base, sinuate, toothed, apex obtuse to acute. Capitula solitary on long peduncles; involucral bracts ± uniseriate, elliptic lanceolate, ± 10 mm long, glandular-pubescent and with long pointed hairs. Flowers yellow. Flowering time Aug.-May. Cypselae fusiform-cylindric, smooth.
