Herba perennis; caules pauci vel singulares e caudice crasso subterraneo exeuntes erecti usque 1 m alti interne plerumque simplices superne laxe ramosi teretes striati glanduloso-hispiduli vel subglabri basi lignescentes et 2-3 mm crassi, internodiis 4-10 cm longis. Folia opposita (summa ramealia interdum alterna) tenuiter membranacea hispidula supra laete viridia subtus pallidiora et saepe ± arachnoidea, inferiora et intermedia sessilia vel brevissime petiolata semiamplexicaulia e basi lata cordato-auriculata paullum contracta (rarissime basi acuta) et iterum in laminam ovatam vel rhomboideam 3-6 cm longam 2-4 cm latam acutam-acuminatam mucronulatam grosse sinuatodentatam-remote denticulatam dilatata, dentibus utrinque 3-5 vulgo obtusis et mucronulatis; folia superiora sessilia vel breviter petiolata late lanceolata-ovata basi acuta vel obtusa interdum leviter auriculata margine remote dentata vel subintegerrima apice acuta mucronulata; nervus medius et nervi laterales utrinque 2-4 anastomosantes conspicui. Capitula in apicibus caulis et ramorum solitaria; rami capituliferi 2-7 cm longi foliis vel bracteis paucis parvis plerumque alternis instructi; involucri squamae subbiseriatae c. 10 fere aequilongae ellipticae-lanceolatae 3.5-5 mm longae 1.5-2 mm latae acuto-acuminatae glabrae margine anguste albido-scariosae. Flores radii c. 10; ligulae flavae involucrum duplo superantes; flores disci flavi involucro vix longiores. Achaenia glabra laevia obovoideo-vel ellipsoideo-triangularia, angiitis leviter prominentibus interdum vix conspicuis, 4-6 mm longa 2-3 mm diam.
