Characteristics

Frutex erectus parce ramosus; rami patentes rigidi teretes dense foliati, internodiis 2-5 mm longis, juniores villosi, pilis subferrugineis usque 3 mm longis, vetustiores glabrati cicatricosi c. 4 mm crassi cortice fusco vestiti. Folia alterna subcoriacea sessilia subsemiamplexicaulia primo dense subferrugineo-villosa postremo ± glabrata scabriuscula oblanceolata vel rarius anguste obovata (2-)3-6 cm longa 1-2 cm lata basin versus cuneatim angustata apice acuta vel rarius obtusa calloso-mucronata margine integerrima subrevoluta; nervus medius subtus elevatus, nervi laterales utrinque 2-3 anastomosantes vulgo conspicui. Capitula terminalia et axillaria in pedunculis paucibracteatis dense subferrugineo-villosis c. 2 cm longis; involucri squamae biseriatae imbricatae dorso copiose villosae lanceolato-oblongae acutae margine anguste scariosae, exteriores c. 6 mm longae c. 2 mm latae, interiores 8-10 mm longae 2.5-3 mm latae. Flores radii c. 12; ligulae luteae involucrum fere duplo superantes; flores disci lutei numerosi involucro aequilongi. Achaenia glabra breviter cylindracea fere laevia.
