Characteristics

Frutex vel suffrutex in pleiochasium diffuse ramosus; rami teretes vel leviter angulati, angulis e nervo medio foliorum decurrenti effectis, dense hispidi, pilis erectis glanduliferis fere 0.5-1 mm longis rigidis, juniores suberecti vel adscendentes herbacei non vel parum arachnoidei, vetustiores decumbentes lignosi c. 2 mm crassi; internodia c. 0.5-3 cm 130 longa. Folia alterna membranacea utrinque glanduloso-hispida supra viridia subtus indumento ± denso arachnoideo-lanato cano vestita sessilia subsemiamplexicaulia elliptica-anguste obovata-anguste oblonga-lanceolata 1.5-3(-4) cm longa 0.5-1(-2) cm lata acuta calloso-mucronata basi cuneatim angustata margine tenuia leviter revoluta integerrima vel denticulata vel irregulariter serrato-dentata, dentibus utrinque 1-3 calloso-mucronatis; nervus medius subtus elevatus hispidus. Capitula in apicibus ramulorum solitaria; pedunculi graciles breviter glanduloso-pilosi 1-3 cm longi bracteis paucis linearibus vel lineari-subulatis instructi. Involucri squamae imbricatae biseriatae virides apicem versus saepe rubro-violaceae dorso ± dense arachnoideae acuminatae marginibus albido-scariosis ciliato-fimbriatis, exteriores lineari-lanceolatae c. 3 mm longae c. 1 mm latae, interiores oblongae-oblanceolatae 5-6 mm longae c. 2 mm latae. Flores radii 5-9; ligulae flavae vel subtus interdum partim rufae involucrum fere 3-4 mm superantes; flores disci flavi c. 4 mm longi. Achaenia glabra non vel leviter striata cylindracea c. 4 mm longa 1-1.5 mm diam.
