Characteristics

Frutex humilis dense ramosus caudice subterraneo usque 1.5 cm crasso; rami vetustiores valde lignosi robusti usque 7 mm crassi cortice glabro rimoso griseo-atro-fusco obtecti; rami juniores subglabri vel in axillis foliorum floccoso-lanati; ramuli plerumque abbreviati et conferte foliati. Folia alterna rigida coriacea glabra (ob)lanceolato-linearia vel linearia 4-10 mm longa 1-2 mm lata subsemiamplexicaulia apice acuta calloso-mucronata margine integerrima subcallosa laevia vel rarius sparse aculeolata 1-nervia, nervo subtus paullum elevato. Capitula in apicibus ramulorum solitaria pedunculata; pedunculi 0.5-2(-3) cm longi interdum glandulosi bracteis paucis viridibus 2-3 mm modo longis obsiti. Involucri squamae c. 8-10 uniseriatae vel subuniseriatae glabrae anguste oblongae-obovatae obtusae (vel 1-3 ex exterioribus subacutae) c. 3-4 mm longae c. 1-1.5 mm latae per medium dorsum virides margine albido-scariosae ciliatae. Flores radii c. 6; ligulae flavae involucrum fere duplo superantes; flores disci flavi c. 15. Achaenia 6-7 mm longa dura trialata, alis rigide membranaceis 1.5-3 mm latis; latera laevia vel interdum sulco longitudinali et costis duobus instructa; cavernula apicalis nulla vel rarissime (an abnormaliter?) cavernula apicalis efenestrata adsunt.
