Characteristics

Suffrutex in pleiochasium ramosus; caulis erectus c. 1 dm altus e basi ramosus; rami inferiores primo patentes postremo decumbentes caule multo longiores usque 4-6 dm longi; caulis et rami teretes basi lignescentes primo albido-floccoso-lanati mox glabrescentes laxe foliati, internodiis 1-4 cm longis. Folia alterna petiolata, petiolis 1-3 cm longis basi semiamplexicaulibus; lamina coriacea ovato-orbicularis vel late elliptica (superiorum anguste elliptica-oblanceolata) c. 3-4.5 cm longa 2-3.5 cm lata basi abrupte cuneata apice rotundata obtusa vel subacuta margine cartilaginea leviter revoluta integerrima vel exigue repando-denticulata primo albo-lanata deinde glabrata; nervus medius subtus elevatus, nervi laterales baud conspicui. Inflorescentiae in apicibus caulis et ramorum ± corymbosae paucicapitulatae; pedunculi capitulorum longitudine valde variabiles (0.5-5 cm longi) albo-lanati bracteis paucis linearibus vel lineari-subulatis 3-8 mm longis in squamas involucri transeuntibus instructi. Involucrum campanulatum c. 10 mm altum 6-8 mm diam.; squamae c. 30 fere 3-seriatae acuminatae extus albo-lanatae margine albido-scariosae, exteriores ovatotriangulares (in capitulis majoribus) usque 5 mm longae usque 2 mm latae, intermediae ovato-lanceolatae 6-7 mm longae, interiores lanceolatae 10 mm longae 2.5 mm latae. Flores radii c. 10-15; ligulae flavae involucrum non vel vix superantes; flores disci flavi. Achaenia (vix matura) cylindracea laevia glabra 4 mm longa 2 mm diam.
