Suffrutex vel frutex 3-6 dm altus spinis omnino destitutus partibus junioribus dense glanduloso-pubescens viscidus (exsiccatus) asper partibus vetustioribus glabratus; caulis erectus sensim valde lignescens rigidus teres striatus sat dense foliatus, internodiis 2-10 mm longis, corymbose ramosus, ramis erecto-patentibus rigidis. Folia alterna membranacea sessilia vix semiamplexicaulia, inferiora et media lineari(ob)lanceolata vel linearia 1-6 cm longa 2-6 mm lata basi exauriculata vel interdum ± late auriculata margine dentata vel pinnatifidodentata, dentibus utrinque 1-6 remotis saepe suboppositis mucronatis, apice acuta vel rarius obtusa mucronata, superiora sursum sensim decrescentia, summa plerumque e basi lata et auriculata acuminata remote denticulata vel integerrima; nervus medius subtus prominens paullum decurrens, nervi laterales inconspicui. Inflorescentiae in apice caidis et ramorum ± corymbosae paucicapitulatae; pedicelli capitulorum longitudine valde variabiles 2-12 cm longi bracteis remotis linearisubulatis 0.5-1.5 cm longis instructi. Involucrum late campanulatum 5-7 mm altum; squamae 8-13 fere aequilongae primo exteriores margines interiorum tegentes postremo omnes unam fere seriem formantes (ob)lanceolatae-(ob)ovatae-oblongae apice acutae vel acuminatae per medium dorsum virides et glanduloso-puberulae margine late albido-scariosae minute fimbriato-ciliatae. Flores radii involucri squamas numero aequantes; ligulae flavae involucrum plus duplo superantes; flores disci flavi 30-40 involucro fere aequilongi. Achaenia matura glabra dura c. 5 mm longa normaliter valde heteromorpha: obtuse vel acute triangularia vel ± late trialata vel rarius globosa; latera laevia vel rugosa vel transverse vel longitudinaliter sulcata vel minute tuberculata.
