Frutex erectus 3-9 dm altus opposite ramosus; ramuli patentes vel adscendentes teretes glaucovirides saepe rubescentes pulverulenti, rami vetustiores robusti cortice rimoso griseo vestiti; internodia 1-3(-5) cm longa. Folia opposita parum succulenta ± glauca et pulverulenta vix puberula margine remote sinuato-dentata-denticulata sessilia vel basin versus cuneatim in petiolum angustata semiamplexicaulia, inferiora et media ramulorum anguste (ob)ovata-rhomboidea-elliptica-oblanceolata vel rarius lineari-lanceolata usque 4(-5) cm longa usque 1(-1.5) cm lata apice rotundata vel obtusa saepe mucronata, superiora lanceolata-linearia apice obtusa vel acuta; nervus medius albidus subtus prominens, nervi longitudinales duo interdum conspicui. Capitula in ramulis terminalia solitaria vel rarius laxe corymbosa; pedunculi capitulorum glanduloso-puberuli pulverulenti 1-4 cm longi nudi vel bracteis paucis (1-3) alternis vel rarius suboppositis lanceolato-linearibus vel linearibus integerrimis vel remote denticulatis instructi. Involucri squamae subuniseriatae fere aequilongae c. 12 lanceolatae 5-6 mm longae 1-1.5 mm latae acutae dorso glandulosopulverulentae virides margine sat late albido-scariosae vel interdum ex parte violaceae. Flores radii involucri squamas numero aequantes; ligulae flavae involucrum duplo superantes; flores disci numerosi flavi. Achaenia glabra triangularia 9-12 mm longa trialata, alis semipellucidis stramineis vel ex parte violaceis 3-5 mm latis, omnibus lateribus sulco longitudinali ad medium latus pertinenti instructa vel sublaevia; cavernula apicalis trifenestrata, fenestris ovalibus 1-2 mm longis.

Leaves opposite, oblong, lanceolate or linear, tapering at base, apex subobtuse to acute; sometimes somewhat fleshy, dark green, margins entire, sparsely denticulate, subsinuate or toothed. Capitula yellow or yellow with a dark heart; involucral scales subbiseriate, powdery scabrid at back, lanceolate, membrane-edged. Flowering time mostly in Aug. Cypselae smooth, 3-winged, pale brown and highly palatable.
Twiggy shrublet, up to 0.5 m tall. Leaves opposite, slightly succulent and glaucous, younger ones glandular-powdery; obovate to elliptic, to rarely sublinear-lanceolate, margins sinuate-dentate to sparsely denticulate. Flowerheads radiate, 1-few at branch tips; ray florets longer than involucral bracts, yellow; disc florets yellow. Cypselas 9-12 mm long, triangular, 3-winged, with 3 apical windows.
Twiggy shrublet to 50 cm. Leaves opposite, lanceolate, toothed, fleshy and puberulous. Flower heads radiate, 1-few at branch tips, yellow. Achenes 9-12 mm long, winged, apical chamber 3-fenestrate.
