Shrub, up to 0.5 m high; compact, well branched; young stems, peduncles, leaves and involucral bracts thickly beset with stalked glands. Leaves alternate, sessile; blade narrowly obovate, oblong or elliptic, apex obtuse to acute, mucronulate, base broad, half-clasping, margins remotely denticulate, upper leaves entire, glandular. Heads radiate, solitary, axillary or terminal, on long peduncles, glandular. Involucral bracts subbiseriate, glandular-hispid, margins white-scarious. Flowers: ray florets female, fertile, yellow; disc florets functionally male, yellow; Oct., Feb. Fruit with cypsela narrowly obovoid to ellipsoid, pitted, ± sulcate as well in lower part. Pappus absent.
