Characteristics

Frutex vel suffrutex erectus ramosus 3-6 dm altus vel ultra; rami teretes erecto-patentes, juniores subherbacei glanduloso-asperi-hirti-pubescentes, vetustiores lignosi robusti usque 5 mm crassi cortice fusco glabra to obtecti; internodia 2-10 mm longa. Folia alterna sessilia semiamplexicaulia rigide membranacea utrinque ± glanduloso-aspera-pubescentia oblonga-oblanceolata-anguste obovata vel summa lanceolata obtusa mucronulata margine glanduloso-scabro remote serrulatodenticulato vel in foliis summis integerrimo; nervus medius conspicuus subtus prominens, nervi secundarii inconspicui. Capitula in pedunculis glanduloso-asperis-pubescentibus terminalibus vel axillaribus usque 3 cm longis; folia pedunculi pauca lanceolata 1-2 cm longa. Involucri squamae c. 9 subbiseriatae fere aequilongae (vel 1-3 ex exterioribus breviores) dorso glandulosae asperulae lanceolatae-anguste oblongae-ovatae 8-10 mm longae 2-3 mm latae acuminatae margine albidoscariosae. Flores radii c. 7; ligulae flavae involucrum duplo superantes; flores disci flavi involucro aequilongi. Achaenia glabra ellipsoidea c. 9 mm longa c. 3 mm diam. foveolis dense instructa basin versus leviter sulcata.

Leaves alternate, sessile; blade narrowly obovate, oblong or elliptic, apex obtuse to acute, mucronulate, base broad, half-clasping, margins remotely denticulate, upper leaves entire, glandular. Heads radiate, solitary, axillary or terminal, on long peduncles, glandular. Involucral bracts subbiseriate, glandular-hispid, margins white-scarious. Flowers: ray florets female, fertile, yellow; disc florets functionally male, yellow; Oct., Feb. Fruit with cypsela narrowly obovoid to ellipsoid, pitted, ± sulcate as well in lower part. Pappus absent.
