Herba perennis; caules scapiformes 1-2 dm alti singulares vel pauci e caudice subterraneo radiciformi lignoso usque 1 cm crasso exeuntes erecti normaliter simplices vel rarissime 2-3-ramosi basi lignescentes et rosulate multifoliati parte scapiformi subherbacei glanduloso-puberuli viscidi monocephali subnudi vel laxe bracteati, bracteis lineari-subulatis 0.2-1.5 cm longis. Folia utrinque albido-tomentosa vel vetustiora supra glabrescentia forma valde variabilia spathulata-(ob)ovata-rhomboidea-lanceolata 1-1.5 cm longa sensim vel abrupte in petiolum latum 1-2 cm longum basi ampliato-amplexicaulem attenuata apice rotundata-acuta-cuspidata margine integerrima vel leviter repanda. Capitula erecta; involucri squamae 13-16 subbiseriatae fere aequilongae oblongo-lanceolatae 5-6 mm longae 1.5-2 mm latae acutae-subobtusae dorso glanduloso-puberulae margine ± late albido-scariosae ciliato-fimbriatae. Flores radii involucri squamas numero aequantes; ligulae flavae involucrum plus duplo superantes; flores disci flavi involucro fere aequilongi. Achaenia dura glabra alis exclusis c. 9 mm longa triangularia apice truncata c. 3 mm lata basi acuta trialata, alis stramineis fere impellucidis subrigidis usque 3 mm latis; latera ± rugoso-cristata; caverna apicalis magna c. 2.5-3 mm alta et lata efenestrata.
