Leaves opposite, occasionally on flowering stems the most distal few alternate, sessile, narrowly elliptic to oblanceolate, 3–9.5 cm long, 0.4–1.6 cm wide, cuneate at the base and sometimes semi-amplexicaul, sinuate-toothed with gland-tipped teeth at the margin, acute to mucronate at the apex, densely to sparsely hispidulous.. Capitula solitary, terminal, 5–8 mm long (more if rays are erect), nodding in fruit; capitulum stalk 3–12 cm long, glandular-hairy, with or without a few linear bracts up to 12 mm long; phyllaries 10–18, ± 1-seriate, lanceolate, 4–6 mm long, 1–1.5 mm wide, acute, densely glandular-hairy but for the scarious margins..
