Characteristics

Corolla lilac, tube 2–4 mm. long, filiform, glabrous, lobes 2–2.5 x 0.5–0.8 mm., lanceolate, glabrous or with a few short hairs outside, filaments c. 1–1.7 mm. long, glabrous, anthers c. 0.5 mm. long; style 3–3.5 mm. long, stigma lobes 1–1.5 mm. long; ovary 1 x 0.8–1 mm., hairy.

Leaves decussate; blades 9–12 x 3.5–4.5 mm., ovate to ovate-lanceolate, often a little hairy on margins and veins, especially below, or glabrescent; petioles subobsolete or to c. 1 mm. long; stipular sheath with 1–3 minute setae.
Calyx: enlarged, foliaceous lobe 3–5 x 1–1.5(2) mm., ovate-lanceolate to lanceolate, often a little hairy, setiform lobes minute.
Seeds brown, c. 1.5 x 1 mm., (sub)globose to ± oblong, dorsal side convex, slightly keeled, ventral side ± flat.
