Characteristics

Acaulescent geophyte, 40-100 mm tall, with pluricellular hairs. Bulb tunics vertically nerved, splitting, brown. Leaves crowded, leaflets 3, broadly obcordate, sometimes sparsely pilose beneath, fringed, often marked with brown calli, lateral ones smaller than central one, margins sometimes undulate. Flowers 1 per peduncle with long alternate bracts ± embracing calyx, yellow or white, with a yellow tube, calyx nearly clasped by bracts.
