Characteristics

Herbs, 4-9 cm tall, acaulescent, from a branching multi­headed caudex, appressed white villous-sericeous. Stipules ovate-oblong, membranous, villous-sericeous, adnate to petiole, basally connate. Leaves 2-6 cm, 15-21-foliolate; petiole and rachis densely villous-sericeous; leaflets densely arranged; leaflet blades ovate to oblong, 2-5 × 1-2 mm, both surfaces densely white villous-sericeous. Racemes dense, 5-7-flowered; peduncle 4-6 cm, as long as to longer than leaves, with white and black trichomes intermixed; bracts lanceolate, 3-8 mm, with black and white trichomes intermixed on apical part. Ca­lyx broadly cylindric, 0.8-1.2 cm, with trichomes like those on bracts; lobes lanceolate, 4-5 mm. Corolla blue to bluish purple; standard 1.5-2 cm, lamina almost orbicular, apex emarginate to 2-lobed; wings 1.1-1.6 cm, lamina apex emarginate; keel 1-1.3 cm, beak ca. 1 mm. Legume stipitate; stipe ca. 5 mm; body oblong, oblong-ovoid, or ovoid, 1.5-3 × 0.5-0.7 cm, 1-locular, with appressed white trichomes, beak erect. Fl. Jun-Jul, fr. Jul-Aug.
