Bracts subtending each partial inflorescence about 3.5 mm long, ovate, acute, villous at the base, becoming glabrous and brown at the tip, more or less uniform in size and shape throughout the spike. Floral bracts similar to the Subtending < bract but a little larger, acute or acuminate, the 2 outer bracts somewhat shorter and wider than the inner, the longer bracts about two thirds the length of the perianth, all bracts tomentose. Perianthof the mature bud dull, purplish pink, about 9 mm long, covered with long fine white hairs, the hairs at the apex proªjecting far beyond the limb, the posticous segment more slender and with fewer hairs. Style 7.5 mm long, glabrous above and below, with a zone of rather sparse hairs just below the middle; pollen presenter about.6 mm long, not much wider than the style.
