Characteristics

Shrub up to 2.1 m. high or spreading tree, unarmed.. Young branchlets shortly appressed-pubescent or puberulous, later glabrescent and turning grey-brown.. Leaves with petiole 1.5–4.5 cm. long and rhachis 1.5–11.8 cm. long; pinnae 2–6 pairs; leaflets 4–9 pairs, oblong-elliptic, 3–10 mm. long, 1.5–5 mm. wide, rounded or slightly emarginate at apex, appressed-puberulous especially beneath.. Racemes 2.5–10 cm. long.. Sepals ± 7 mm. long.. Petals yellow, the upper one 11–12 mm. long and 6–6.5 mm. wide, shortly (3 mm.) unguiculate at base; the other petals elliptic or rhombic-elliptic, 10–12 mm. long, 4–6 mm. wide, somewhat narrowed towards apex.. Pods narrowly elliptic to linear-oblong, 6.5–11.5 cm. long, 0.9–1.6 cm. wide, 1–4-seeded, obtuse to subacute at apex, attenuate at base; valves thin, papery, closely finely and almost longitudinally veined; upper suture somewhat thickened and longitudinally channelled.. Seeds somewhat compressed, ellipsoid, ± 9 mm. long and 5–6 mm. wide, brown, smooth.
