Passiflora coccinea Aubl.

The flowers are 5 cm wide and bright red. The fruit are round. They are 4.5 cm long by 5 cm wide. The seeds are 5 mm long. The fruit can be orange or red. The fruit are edible.

A tropical plant. In Bolivia it grows to 900 m altitude. It needs average moisture in hot weather. It needs an average to fertile, well-drained soil. It can grow in full or part sun. It suits hardiness zones 10-12.

The fruit are used to make juice.

Plants are grown from seed. They can also be grown from cuttings.
