Characteristics

Corms condensed, less than 1 cm long and wide; tunic densely fibrous. Roots fleshy-filamentous. Leaf lamina flat to angular, shortly subulate, 0.3-40 cm long, 0.5-3 mm wide. Inflorescences 1-3, 5-25 cm long, 1-or rarely 2-flowered; pedicels 0.8-10 cm long; bracteole usually 1 and sheathing axis, 1.5-4 cm long. Perianth lobes 6-18 mm long, green-yellow outside. Sepals sometimes with red abaxially. Stamens 2.8-7.5 mm long; filaments alternately long and short, 1.5-3.5 mm long; anthers 1.5-5 mm long, shortly sagittate at base. Style ±clavate, 1.6-6 mm long including ±triangular to narrowly cordate lobes 0.8-5 mm long; ovary 5-6 mm long. Capsule ±linear, 12-22 mm long. Seeds ±depressed-globular, 0.9-1.1 mm wide, red-brown, colliculate, dull.
