Leaf blades 4.5–13.3 x 0.9–2.8 cm., lanceolate, narrowly acuminate at the apex, cuneate at the base, glabrous above save for a few short hairs on the narrowly impressed midnerve, entirely glabrous or with a few hairs on the venation beneath; lateral nerves ± 10–12 on each side, prominent beneath; petioles 2–8 mm. long, pubescent; stipules 1.5–5 x 0.5–2 mm., triangular-lanceolate, pubescent.
Style glabrous, 5.8 mm. long in long-styled flowers, 1.5 mm. long in short-styled flowers; stigma 0.9–1.2 mm. long, the lobes quite distinct, linear.
Flowers heterostylous, 1–3 in each axil with no or only a short common peduncle 0–2.5 mm. long; pedicels 1.5–2.5 mm. long, pubescent.
Corolla white, yellowish white or cream, glabrous outside; tube 4–4.3 mm. long; lobes 2–4.9 x 1.1–2 mm., triangular-lanceolate.
Calyx pubescent; tube 1.6–1.7 mm. long; limb tube 0–0.2 mm.; lobes 1–4.1 mm. long, lanceolate-subulate.
Anthers about three-quarters exserted in short-styled flowers, just included in long-styled flowers.
Shrub or small tree, usually much-branched, 1.8–9 m. tall; stems glabrous or nearly so.
Berries 3–3.7 mm long, 4–5 mm. across, subglobose, glabrous.
