Characteristics

Shrub 2 m. tall; young branches covered with patent hairs; older branches covered with fawn, corky bark.. Leaf-blades drying greenish, narrowly elliptic to oblanceolate-oblong, 9–15 cm. long, 3–5.5 cm. wide, apex acute, base acute, sparsely strigose above with denser hairs on the midrib, lateral and tertiary nerves impressed above, pubescent-strigose with denser spreading hairs on the nerves beneath; bacterial nodules absent; petiole 1–1.8 cm. long, densely pubescent; stipule-limbs fawn, corky, truncate or triangular, 3 mm. long, sparsely pubescent outside, arista drying blackish, 5–6 mm. long, pubescent.. Corymbs borne on lateral branches 19 cm. long bearing 2 pairs of leaves, moderately compact, ± 3 cm. across; peduncle 0.5 cm. long; primary inflorescence-branches 5–6 mm. long, covered with spreading hairs; secondary branches present; pedicels 2–5 mm. long, covered with spreading hairs; bracts stipule-like; bracteoles inconspicuous.. Calyx-tube ± 2 mm. long, very densely covered with white, patent hairs; limb-tube 1 mm. long, sparsely hairy; lobes very narrowly triangular to subulate, 2 mm. long, 0.75 mm. wide at the base, sparsely hairy..
